Ndarakwai Ranch Safari
Elephants below Kilimanjaro on a private conservancy, with a walking safari and First World War trenches.
Ndarakwai Ranch Safari · 4–5 hours
Package Overview
Ndarakwai is an 11,000-acre private conservancy on the western plains of Kilimanjaro, brought back from overgrazing and poaching since 1995. Elephant, giraffe, zebra, eland and the long-necked gerenuk move between the waterholes, and lion and cheetah have returned. Because it's private land you can get out and walk with an armed ranger, and there are trenches left from First World War fighting in the hills.
Highlights
- Elephants with Kilimanjaro behind them
- Guided walking safari
- Rare gerenuk antelope
- More than 300 bird species
- First World War trench remains
